Oh Ms. Sarah Burton, you've really done it this time... I am of course referring to her work in the jaw droppingly gorgeous Alexander McQueen Spring 2012 collection. As I sat at work, scrolling through my twitter feed, half asleep, absentmindedly opening links - I came across a link to the lace lathered and metallic magic that is the new spring collection. Like a double shot espresso, the images hit me square in the head and I was buzzing in my seat as I quickly flicked through all the images.
Floored by the attention to detail and sheer scale of effort that went into those dresses, I was compelled to share it with you all. Here are a few of my favourite pieces:
Sticking to the iconic feminine yet bold designs that Alexander McQueen has become known for, Burton's take on spring fashion has everyone clawing for the bondage inspired gowns. Layering, tailoring and sculpting lace and taffeta, Burton has constructed a collection that has been ingrained into my mind, I can't wait to go shopping to have a go at compiling a McQueen inspired outfit.
I can't decide which is my absolute favourite look from the collection, I keep tossing up between the asymmetric, feathered taffeta dress or the structured white and gold fishtail gown (pictured below)
And of course, it wouldn't be a complete post without a little shoe porn.
And my favourite shoe of the collection -
This white rope and pearl detailing wedge, the things I would do to have them...
All in all, a stunning collection by Sarah Burton - I cannot even begin to fathom the winter collection she will soon be beginning, I'm already frothing at the mouth at the thought of the idea alone.
